KL Sentral to Cameron Highlands
The journey from KL Sentral to Cameron Highlands is not as straight forward as getting an Express bus from KL Sentral to Genting Highlands, and it is often confusing. Here, we will choose the best route option and make it simple and clear.
Step 1. Get a train from KL Sentral to TBS Bus Station
There are 3 popular ways to travel to the TBS Bus Station, you can read more about it in the article: How to get to TBS from KL Sentral. It is recommended to take the KLIA Transit as it is the fastest means of transport to TBS bus terminal from KL Sentral. The one-way fare from KL Sentral Station to Bandar Tasik Selatan Station is RM6.50 and the total journey is about 13 minutes.
Upon arriving at Bandar Tasik Selatan station (by LRT, KTM Komuter Train or KLIA Transit), you will need to walk across the pedestrian bridge that links to the main building of TBS. Escalators are available on the way where climbing up to different levels are necessary. Estimated walking time is about 2 minutes.
Step 2. Get a bus from TBS Bus Station to Cameron Highlands
Purchase a ticket from the bus ticket counters in TBS Main Building and you are good to go.
Unititi Express is a long historical brand serving buses to Cameron Highlands. Unititi VIP coaches provide spacious seats and leg rooms designed to increase their passengers’ comfort during the journey from KL to Cameron Highlands. Unititi Express has 4 daily departures at 8:30am, 10.15am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm.
Another relatively new emerging bus company serving express buses from KL to Cameron Highlands is CS Travel. CS Travel also provides 4 daily departures at 10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:45pm and 5:00pm. CS Express is equipped with Wifi access, air-conditioners, reclining seats, and spacious leg rooms to ensure a comfortable journey for their passengers.
The duration required for a bus trip from KL to Cameron Highlands is about 3.5 hours depending on traffic conditions. Both express buses depart from TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan) and terminate at Tanah Rata bus terminal. Washroom breaks will be provided upon request to the driver during the journey. Usually, buses travel directly from KL to Cameron Highlands, but sometimes the buses will alight passengers at Bidor and Tapah before going through the mountain climbing route (Note: Bidor and Tapah are the two small towns at the foot of the mountain).

There is no direct/express bus from KL Sentral to Cameron Highlands. You will have to reach Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) Bus Station in order to board the bus to Cameron Highlands. TBS Bus Station is located at Bandar Tasek Selatan in Kuala Lumpur, and you can board a train to TBS from KL Sentral.
